Due to COVID-19, SLAC has cancelled all public tours until further notice out of concern for the health, safety and well-being of our community and staff.

Please check this website for the latest updates on the tour program.

SLAC offers free public tours twice a month.

Registration opens on the last Friday of the previous month at 9 a.m. Our Web-based tour registration is available online only. No phone calls or email requests will be taken for public tour registration. Tours are popular and spaces fill up quickly; we recommend registering as early as possible.

Tickets are non-transferable.

SLAC tours are open to all visitors 12 years of age and above. Children 12-18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult; tickets are required for both the minor and the escorting adult.

All public tours meet in the SLAC Orientation Theater, Room 1010, Building 53. The 1:00pm tour meets at 12:45pm, and the 2:30pm tour meets at 2:15pm. Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a visit to the lab's 2-mile-long linear accelerator.

Closed-toe shoes are required.

For more details on tour locations, guidelines, directions and other information, please see our guidelines page and the Tours FAQs.

We look forward to hosting you at SLAC!
