Stanford postdoctoral researcher Stephen Dongmin Kang, left, demonstrates how he works at a modular glovebox workstation while Stanford postdoc Jungjin Park works at a neighboring computer in a SLAC battery lab. Kang and Park have been observing the behavior of electrode particles made of nickel, manganese and cobalt, also known as NMC. NMC is one of the most widely used materials in electric vehicle batteries.
