Head of External Communications

Manuel joined SLAC Strategic Communications & External Affairs in 2014. Before overseeing external communications, he managed SLAC's media relations program and wrote about the fascinating research at the lab. Manuel has a PhD in physics and spent the first 15 years of his career doing spectroscopy research before discovering that his true calling is communicating about science. Outside of work, he enjoys taking photos and spending time with his family.
