The Recovery Act at SLAC

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory activities and information related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

SLAC has received over $95 million in funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA. The funding comes as part of the $1.6 billion in Recovery Act funds allotted by Congress to the Department of Energy's Office of Science. Recovery Act funding received by the lab supports infrastructure upgrades such as seismic retrofits and electrical upgrades, and catalyzes advancements in scientific programs including advanced accelerator research and the development of cutting-edge instrumentation for X-ray studies. The money is helping to advance SLAC's broad scientific programs, enabling forefront research in energy and materials sciences, accelerator science, biology, and other fields.
