In October 2008, the laboratory was renamed SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. In the laboratory's new name, the letters "SLAC" no longer serve as an acronym.
In publication and in formal presentations, please refer to the lab as "SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory" on first reference and "SLAC" thereafter.
